Basketball Recap: George Ranch Comes Up Short

George Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brennan Bears.

Brennan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Ward led the charge by going 8-for-12 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Sean Mondragon, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 17 points.

George Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brennan, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, George Ranch and Brennan will both be playing Fort Bend Elkins the next time they take the court. The Bears will host the Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Longhorns will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
