Berwyn/Cicero Morton is 1-6 against Downers Grove North since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Mustangs will face off against the Trojans at 10:00 a.m. The last three games Berwyn/Cicero Morton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, Berwyn/Cicero Morton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hinsdale South 6-4. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jayden Vega was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, James Richmond and Alejandro Guzman did most of the damage at the plate: Richmond went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Guzman went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Guzman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Downers Grove North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Lyons 14-12. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Zach Ziroli looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Brady Schallmoser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Jack Romsey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Downers Grove North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lyons only posted an OBP of .378.
Downers Grove North pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, their record is now 9-21.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Berwyn/Cicero Morton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Downers Grove North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
