Recap: Water Valley Blue Devils vs. Bruce Trojans
The Water Valley Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bruce 61-59. The win was just what Water Valley needed coming off of a 58-25 defeat in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Bruce lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ankavious Glass. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Glass has scored all season. Jay Cole Williams was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Water Valley's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Bruce, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Water Valley will face off against Ingomar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bruce won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Palmer is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
