Volleyball Recap: Brayden Wallis Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat O'fallon

Edwardsville hadn't done well against O'Fallon recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Edwardsville never let O'Fallon on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24.

Edwardsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Wallis, who had 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave Wallis a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why O'Fallon lost, don't look at Niyam Ketan Patel. Despite the final result, he had eight digs and three assists.

Edwardsville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-12 record this season. As for O'Fallon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-7.
