Soccer Game Preview: DeKalb County vs. Smith County

The DeKalb County Tigers will challenge the Smith County Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

DeKalb County will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Stone Memorial, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Smith County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They never let the Dragons get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering Smith County have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting York Institute from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Aubree Spain led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Smith County's victory bumped their record up to 10-1-1. As for DeKalb County, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
