Softball Recap: San Luis Obispo's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

San Luis Obispo won the last time they faced Rosamond and things went their way on Friday too. San Luis Obispo blew past Rosamond 11-1. Considering the Tigers have won three games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

London Sutton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Michel was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Sarah Kelley was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

San Luis Obispo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosamond only posted an OBP of .286.

The win was the third in a row for San Luis Obispo, bringing their record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rosamond, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, San Luis Obispo will square off against Ridgeview at 1:29 p.m. on Friday. San Luis Obispo's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ridgeview has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Rosamond, they will challenge East Bakersfield at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. East Bakersfield has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.8 runs per game on average), something Rosamond will no doubt try to take advantage of.
