Softball Recap: Hillcrest Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hillcrest entered their tilt with Edison on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Edison Chargers 8-2. Considering the Trojans have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Pico looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Sierra Siracusa was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Nicole Riddell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Edison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Hillcrest and Edison will both be playing Beckman the next time they take the field. Hillcrest will head out to face Beckman at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Edison will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
