Baseball Recap: Jensen Beach Victorious

Jensen Beach can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Eau Gallie Commodores.

Jensen Beach got a great performance from John Gillen as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest hits Gillen has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Graham Garner was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Jensen Beach is undefeated when Garner posts three or more hits, but 5-7 otherwise. Will Rader was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Jensen Beach now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eau Gallie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Jensen Beach Falcons take on Centennial Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on March 26th. Jensen Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Centennial's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eau Gallie, they will face off against Varsity Opponent on Wednesday.
