Baseball Recap: South Plantation Comes Up Short

South Plantation lost against Deerfield Beach back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Paladins took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucks.

South Plantation got a good showing from Benjamin Coffey, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coffey has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

South Plantation's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Deerfield Beach, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. South Plantation will face off against Cooper City at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deerfield Beach, they will square off against Fort Lauderdale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Flying L's have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Bucks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
