The Valor Christian Eagles will take on the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Valor Christian barely beat Legend the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Valor Christian blew past Legend 12-6 on Thursday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Trystan Chadwick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Valor Christian got a big performance out of Harrison Feagans, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Feagans also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season. Brigham Brown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Valor Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Regis Jesuit, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Fossil Ridge by a score of 7-3 on Saturday.
Michael Kroll looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justin Steinbeck, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diesel Bernosky, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Regis Jesuit pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Valor Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Valor Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
