Basketball Recap: Bucksport Triumphs

Bucksport had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Tuesday. The Golden Bucks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ponies, too.

Bucksport's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Foxcroft Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Bucksport and Foxcroft Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Bucksport (ranked 98th) will meet Caribou (ranked third) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Foxcroft Academy will challenge Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 60 places (85 vs. 25).
