Baseball Recap: George Washington Eagles vs. Franklin Learning Center Bobcats
George Washington extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They lost 20-6 to the Franklin Learning Center Bobcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.
As for Franklin Learning Center, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
For Franklin Learning Center's part, Sean Miguel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Miguel is becoming a predictor of the Bobcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Gabriel Martinez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
George Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Learning Center, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-7 defeat against Tacony Academy Charter on the 1st.
