Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek Comes Up Short

Stewarts Creek was the 4-1 winner over Blackman when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks fell just short of the Blackman Blaze by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stewarts Creek got a good showing from Jacob Jones, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Jones has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Coleman Neas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ayden Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base.

Stewarts Creek's record now sits at 1-3. As for Blackman, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stewarts Creek will square off against Dickson County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Blackman, they will take on Hendersonville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
