Basketball Recap: Live Oak's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Live Oak had lost six straight headed into Thursday's game, but Ethan Estrada Sanchez didn't let it get to seven. The Live Oak Acorns blew past the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars 69-39 on Thursday thanks in part to Estrada Sanchez, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 24 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

Live Oak's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Live Oak will head out to face off against Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Live Oak is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they will welcome Soquel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Soquel will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something San Lorenzo Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
