Pitman came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Downey Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Pitman got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 25-11, 21-25, 13-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Downey lost, don't look at Miguel Garcia Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he had 17 digs and one assist. Garcia Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Pitman pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Downey, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

Pitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downey, they are taking a road trip to face off against Enochs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
