Baseball Game Preview: Lynbrook Vikings vs. Cupertino Pioneers

Lynbrook is 2-8 against Cupertino since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Lynbrook fell victim to Santa Clara and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. The game marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Everett Jou spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

Meanwhile, Cupertino didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Clara on Thursday and fell 7-5. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cupertino's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Lynbrook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Lynbrook might still be hurting after the 21-4 loss they got from Cupertino in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
