Basketball Recap: Camden County Takes a Loss

Camden County lost against Pasquotank County last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bruins were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 70-42. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pasquotank County had a senior duo take command as Branden Smith shot 69% from the field en route to 22 points and Datravion Simpson went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The contest was Smith's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Barnes, who posted six points and 12 boards.

Camden County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Pasquotank County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Camden County will take on First Flight in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will be up against the Nighthawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Pasquotank County and Holmes will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
