C.B. Aycock took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They skirted past the Goldsboro Cougars 54-51. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

C.B. Aycock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dom Jones led the charge by putting up 15 points along with six assists and five boards. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in December of 2024. Caleb Jackson was another key player, earning nine points and three steals.

C.B. Aycock will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastern Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Goldsboro, they will venture away from home to take on Southern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
