Softball Game Preview: Corona Panthers vs. King Wolves

Corona is 2-8 against King since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Wolves at 3:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Corona is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Norco, falling 16-1. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, King suffered their closest defeat since May 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 6-4. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Tuesday.

King's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-1. As for Corona, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Corona might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from King in their previous matchup on April 8th. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
