Preview: Granville Central vs. J.F. Webb

Granville Central have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on J.F. Webb at 7:00 PM. Granville Central are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while J.F. Webb are stumbling in off of five consecutive losses.

Granville Central won against Roanoke Rapids four weeks ago with 31 points, and Granville Central decided to stick to that point total again two weeks ago. Granville Central skirted past Warren County 31-28. Granville Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Jed Evans, who rushed for 76 yards and 1 touchdown, and junior Brady Smith, who passed for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. Smith has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 4 games.

Meanwhile, J.F. Webb took a serious blow against Roanoke Rapids last Friday, falling 0-42. J.F. Webb were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-21.

Granville Central's win lifted them to 4-0 while J.F. Webb's defeat dropped them down to 0-5. J.F. Webb's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Granville Central defensive front that amassed four sacks against Warren County, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
