Flag Football Recap: Mountain View's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mountain View won the last time they faced Mesa and things went their way on Thursday too. The Toros came out on top against the Jackrabbits by a score of 18-7. Given the Toros' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 69th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for TIERAH METCALF, who threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 71 yards on only nine carries. Mountain View's leading receiver EMMA FISCHBECK was METCALF's top target yet again, picking up 52 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Mountain View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut FISCHBECK.

The victory (which was Mountain View's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for Mesa, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Mountain View has already played their next matchup, an 18-13 victory against Eastmark on the 23rd. As for Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Casteel on the 25th.
