Softball Recap: Monroe Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Monroe Central entered their tilt with Toronto on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Red Knights 15-5. The Seminoles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Knights, too.

Brylee McFredrick was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Olivia Earley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Monroe Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Toronto only posted an OBP of .227.

Monroe Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Toronto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Monroe Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Toronto: the pair will be back at it again later today.
