Softball Recap: Putnam Takes a Loss

Putnam couldn't beat Lyman Memorial on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Clippers lost 16-4 to the Bulldogs. The Clippers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Laci Sinni was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Yanis, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lyman Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Putnam will venture away from home to face off against Windham at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will take on Wheeler at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
