Basketball Recap: Marcos Arencibia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alief Hastings over Alief Elsik

Alief Hastings lost against Alief Elsik back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Alief Hastings Bears fell to the Alief Elsik Rams 59-53. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alief Hastings lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marcos Arencibia, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanni Bernal, who scored 15 points.

Timothy Ofesi was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds for Alief Elsik. The dominant performance also gave Ofesi a new career-high in steals (three). Andrew Edwards was another key player, putting up nine points.

Alief Hastings' record now sits at 3-10. As for Alief Elsik, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Alief Hastings will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fulshear at 7:00 p.m. As for Alief Elsik, they will head out to square off against Foster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Elsik is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
