Baseball Game Preview: Ortonville Trojans vs. Lakeview Lakers

The Ortonville Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Lakeview Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ortonville, who comes in off a win.

Ortonville took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Renville County West. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Central Minnesota Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Lakers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Ortonville, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Everything went Ortonville's way against Lakeview in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Ortonville made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
