Softball Recap: South Panola Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

South Panola never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Olive Branch Conquistadors. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Grady Beck Wilson and Sadie Bright were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Wilson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bright struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wilson scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Bright got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, South Panola got a massive performance out of Kailey McKinney, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases McKinney has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Houston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

South Panola's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Olive Branch, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
