North Penn-Liberty can attribute much of their success to Blake Oakley, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals, and Luke Kreger, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Oakley has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adynn Wheeland, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.
North Penn-Liberty was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-30, which was the final score in Canton's tilt against South Williamsport on Thursday. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Loss or not, Canton got some senior leadership from Talin Williams and Ben Fitch. Williams posted ten points along with six boards and five blocks, while Fitch dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. Those 14 boards set a new season-high mark for Fitch.
The victory got North Penn-Liberty back to even at 5-5. As for Canton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: North Penn-Liberty hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.7 points per game. It's a different story for Canton, though, as they've been averaging only 39.1 points. The only thing between North Penn-Liberty and another offensive beatdown is Canton.
