Basketball Game Preview: Wendell Trojans vs. Filer Wildcats

The Wendell Trojans will take on the Filer Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wendell will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Wendell is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 73-62 win over Malad on Thursday.

Wendell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarrett Borges led the charge by going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Jordon Swainston, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 20 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Filer's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-42 bruising from Gooding.

Wendell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Filer, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7.

Wendell beat Filer 62-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Wendell repeat their success, or does Filer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
