Football Recap: Spring Woods Comes Up Short

Spring Woods's last matchup with Waltrip could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. The Tigers had to suffer through a 70-6 loss at the hands of the Rams. The Tigers lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 23-20 score last time.

James 'Jimmy' Haren was a one-man wrecking crew For Waltrip. as he threw for 230 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score. Lil Eric Norris was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and two touchdowns.

Spring Woods now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Waltrip, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Spring Woods and Waltrip will both be playing Sharpstown the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Apollos at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th, while the Rams will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on October 4.
