Baseball Recap: Baptist Prep Takes a Loss

Baptist Prep entered their contest against Conway Christian on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Baptist Prep lost 22-11 to Conway Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Baptist Prep has suffered since April 18, 2024.

Nick Boyette made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Nolan Boyette also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Nick wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Baptist Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Having lost for the first time this season, Baptist Prep fell to 7-1. As for Conway Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Baptist Prep Eagles face off against McGehee Owls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. McGehee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Conway Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Conway Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
