Basketball Game Preview: Meadow Bridge Wildcats vs. Hundred Hornets

Meadow Bridge is on a four-game streak of home losses, Hundred a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The Meadow Bridge Wildcats will welcome the Hundred Hornets at 1:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Meadow Bridge is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Montcalm on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Meadow Bridge might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 52-25 to Montcalm, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wildcats were down 50-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The losing side was boosted by Kierston Rozell, who went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and four blocks. That was a full 68% of Meadow Bridge's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyndal Gilkerson, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, Hundred took a blow against Notre Dame on Tuesday, falling 64-17.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Johni Yeager and Selena Wilson. Wilson had a great game and almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine boards. Meanwhile, Yeager did her best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Meadow Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hundred, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything went Meadow Bridge's way against Hundred in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Meadow Bridge made off with a 50-24 win. Will Meadow Bridge repeat their success, or does Hundred have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
