Soccer Game Preview: Weslaco vs. Edinburg North

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Weslaco take on the Edinburg North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday... One thing working in Weslaco's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three contests.

On Tuesday, Weslaco made easy work of La Joya and carried off a 5-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Edinburg North didn't have quite enough to beat Economedes on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Weslaco has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight contests. As for Edinburg North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Weslaco was able to grind out a solid victory over Edinburg North in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. Does Weslaco have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edinburg North turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
