Volleyball Recap: Davison Snaps 19-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

The Davison Cardinals didn't have quite enough to beat Varsity Opponent on Saturday and fell 2-1. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Varsity Opponent 25-19 in the first set.

Davison started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 15-13.

Davison's loss came despite strong showings from Makayla Naves and Adelynn Wilcox. Naves had 12 digs and two aces, while Wilcox had seven digs and one assist. Naves is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Davison's loss ended a 19-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 19-4.

Davison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Oxford on the 11th. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing at home against Martinsburg Area Christian HomeSchoolers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
