Basketball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Northridge Knights

Viewmont is 8-2 against Northridge since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Viewmont Vikings will host the Northridge Knights at 5:15 p.m. Viewmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

On Wednesday, Viewmont beat Woods Cross 44-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Mary Carr was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. Callie Peterson was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northridge). They put the hurt on Box Elder with a sharp 60-37 win on Wednesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-16.

Viewmont has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Northridge, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.

Viewmont was able to grind out a solid win over Northridge when the teams last played back in January, winning 57-46. Will Viewmont repeat their success, or does Northridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
