Basketball Recap: Wayne Academy Takes a Loss

If Wayne Academy was riding high fresh off their 61-27 takedown of East Rankin Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wayne Academy Jaguars lost 58-35 to the Leake Academy Rebels on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Wayne Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Leake Academy, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Wayne Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Patrician Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leake Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
