Softball Recap: Riverdale's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Riverdale dropped their record down to 15-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Rockridge Rockets. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Brooklyn Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie Cox, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Rockridge, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

On Rockridge's side, Taylor Dieterich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Estellah Bognar was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emilee Black was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Riverdale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-3 win against Erie-Prophetstown on the 2nd. As for Rockridge, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Sherrard on the 30th.
