Baseball Recap: Bayshore Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Bayshore Christian was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Washington County Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nate Crooms made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Wheeler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Bayshore Christian's record is now 3-10. As for Washington County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Bayshore Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Washington County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
