Softball Game Preview: Quincy Jackrabbits vs. East Valley Red Devils

Quincy hasn't had much luck against East Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jackrabbits will host the Red Devils at 3:00 p.m. Quincy has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Quincy is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Ellensburg, falling 17-2.

Quincy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Stephens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but East Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past West Valley 10-8. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on London Esparza, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophiya Castaneda was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

East Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more home runs.

East Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Quincy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Quincy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like East Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Quincy might still be hurting after the 19-1 defeat they got from East Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Jackrabbits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
