Softball Recap: Narragansett Comes Up Short

Narragansett's last matchup with South Kingstown could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Mariners lost 19-11 to the Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 on April 4th.

Narragansett's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for South Kingstown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Narragansett will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kilties have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.25 runs per game on average), something the Mariners will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Kingstown, they will take on St. Raphael Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
