Putnam County entered their tilt with Brookfield on Monday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Midgets have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Putnam County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brookfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
