Football Recap: Leigh Comes Up Short

After flying high against Leland last Friday, Leigh came back down to earth. The match between the Longhorns and the Alisal Trojans didn't end well, with the Longhorns falling 34-16.

When it comes to explaining why Leigh lost on Friday, don't look at Blake Zanger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 129 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. Zanger's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Leigh's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alisal, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Leigh will look to defend their home field on Friday against South San Francisco at 7:15 p.m. As for Alisal, they will challenge Palma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
