Softball Recap: Griggsville-Perry Takes a Loss

Griggsville-Perry managed to slip by North Greene the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tornadoes came up short against the Spartans on Monday, falling 9-1. The Tornadoes' loss continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Ashtyn Wainman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Griggsville-Perry saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Lemons, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Griggsville-Perry's record is now 1-9. As for North Greene, they moved to 6-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griggsville-Perry will host Brown County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Greene, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
