The Saratoga Central Catholic Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Tamarac Bengals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Saratoga Central Catholic beat Waterford-Halfmoon 13-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Paige Jaffe made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Fuller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Elise Guidon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Saratoga Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Tamarac had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They blew past the Panthers 10-3. The Bengals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Like Saratoga Central Catholic, Tamarac also got a great game from a two-way player: Erin Lee. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lee has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Makenna Ashe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Addison Ferris was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Tamarac pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, their record is now 8-4.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Saratoga Central Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Tamarac struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saratoga Central Catholic suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Tamarac in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
