Basketball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Roy Royals

The Davis Darts will head out to challenge the Roy Royals at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Davis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to Woods Cross. The match marked the Darts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Davis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of T'Maea Eteuati, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, and Kate Willard, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That was a full 44.4% of Davis' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Simons, who posted three points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Roy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Sky View. One positive for the Royals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Davis' loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Roy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Davis strolled past Roy when the teams last played back in February of 2021 by a score of 40-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
