Softball Recap: Kemp Comes Up Short

Kemp managed to slip by Athens the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Kemp Yellowjackets came up short against the Athens Hornets on Friday, falling 20-5. That's two games in a row now that the Yellowjackets have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Kemp has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-1 record this season. Athens' win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kemp will welcome Brownsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kemp is facing Brownsboro at the right time seeing as Brownsboro is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Athens, they will look to defend their home field on March 14th against Mabank at 6:00 p.m.
