Softball Recap: Stringer Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Stringer rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the French Camp Academy Panthers a 20-0 shutout. Considering the Red Devils have won 13 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Madilyn Graham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaycee Holifield was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Rylei Pickerell, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.

Stringer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 16 consecutive contests.

Stringer is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for French Camp Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Coming up, Stringer will challenge Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. French Camp Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
