Volleyball Recap: Westerville North Comes Up Short

Westerville North was the 3-2 winner over Bishop Watterson when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Westerville North took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Watterson on Thursday. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Owen Varsanyi paced Westerville North's offense, picking up 16 kills. Varsanyi got some help from Sam Gainey and his 28 assists. Varsanyi was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Westerville North's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bishop Watterson, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Coming up, Westerville North will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dublin Scioto at 9:30 p.m. As for Bishop Watterson, they will face off against La Salle at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
