Football Recap: Mckinley Tech Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Ron Brown

McKinley Tech faced Ron Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Trainers received a blow as they fell 32-14 to the Monarchs. The Trainers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Monarchs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Davieon Brown was his usual excellent self, throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes for Ron Brown. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in passer rating (143.2).

This is the second loss in a row for McKinley Tech and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Ron Brown, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

McKinley Tech and Ron Brown are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Trainers will challenge Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. McKinley Tech will need to watch out since the Griffins have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Ron Brown, they will face off against Anacostia on Monday.
