Softball Recap: Fredericktown Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fredericktown entered their tilt with River Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Vikings. The Freddies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Vika Arnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Halie Mull, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Whiteley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fredericktown now has a winning record of 7-6. As for River Valley, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Fredericktown will face off against Cardington-Lincoln at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.64 runs per game on average), something the Freddies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for River Valley, they will square off against Pleasant at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
