Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Find Success

Mt. Pleasant gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Big Rapids Cardinals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Oilers.

The team relied heavily on Logan Langworthy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Mt. Pleasant: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Riley Olson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mt. Pleasant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Mt. Pleasant back to even at 8-8. As for Big Rapids, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Mt. Pleasant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
